Delete your Neeuh account
Last updated: September 25, 2026
This page explains how to delete your account in Neeuh, the expense tracking and tax planning app for iOS, Android, and the web, developed by Neeuh, LLC. It covers how to delete your account yourself, how to ask us to delete it if you cannot sign in, and exactly what happens to your data.
Before you delete
- Deletion is immediate and permanent. It is not a deactivation, and we cannot restore your account or recover your data afterward.
- Export anything you want to keep first. Your records may be needed for your own tax filings. Go to Settings > Data Exports to download your transactions, mileage, and tax data.
- Your subscription ends with your account. You do not need to cancel first. Deleting your account cancels any active Neeuh subscription immediately, so you will not be charged again. The unused part of the current billing period is not refunded.
- If you share a company with others, it is not deleted: it stays with the other members (see What happens to shared companies below).
Delete your account in the app
iPhone, iPad, and Android
- Open the Neeuh app and sign in.
- Open the menu and tap Settings.
- Scroll to the App section and tap Delete Account.
- Enter your password to confirm it is you.
- Tap Delete forever.
On the web
- Sign in at app.neeuh.com.
- Select Settings in the navigation.
- Scroll to the App section and select Delete Account.
- Enter your password to confirm it is you.
- Select Delete forever.
Your account is deleted as soon as you confirm, and you are signed out on every device. Uninstalling the app does not delete your account — use the steps above.
Forgot your password? Use Forgot Password? on the sign-in screen to reset it, then follow the steps above.
Ask us to delete your account
If you cannot sign in, or would rather we do it for you, email privacy@neeuh.com with the subject line "Account deletion request". Please include:
- Your name
- The email address on your Neeuh account
- The name of your business in Neeuh, if you set one up
How we verify it is you. Because deletion cannot be undone, we only act on a request we can tie to the account holder. Send your request from the email address on your account where you can. We will reply to that address and ask you to confirm before we delete anything, and we may ask for additional information that matches what is already on the account. We will never ask for your password, your bank login, or your full card number. Once the account is deleted we will confirm by email.
What is deleted
When you confirm, your account is permanently deleted. We remove:
- Your profile, login, and security settings
- Every company that only you belong to, along with its transactions (income and expenses), tax profiles and calculations, mileage records and trip routes, and other records
- Conversations with the in-app AI assistant
- Your uploaded and generated files — receipts, documents, company logos, and reports. These are queued for removal when your account is deleted and are removed from storage shortly afterward.
At the same time:
- Sessions. Every active session is revoked, so any device still signed in is signed out.
- Subscription and billing. Any active Neeuh subscription is cancelled in Stripe immediately, with no further charges and no prorated refund. Your billing profile at Stripe, including your saved payment details, is deleted.
- Bank connections. We delete your stored bank connections and instruct Plaid to remove them, which ends our access to your bank. If Plaid cannot be reached at that moment, your account is still deleted and we follow up with Plaid to complete the removal.
What happens to shared companies
If other people are members of a company with you, deleting your account does not delete that company or take its records away from them. Your membership ends, and if you owned the company, ownership passes to one of its admins or, if there is none, to its longest-standing member. The company's shared tax profile, W-2s, and tax payment records go with it to the new owner.
What is kept, and for how long
A small amount of information outlives the deletion, for the reasons below. None of it is used to re-create your account or for any other purpose.
- Backups — up to 30 days. Encrypted database backups are kept on a short rolling schedule for disaster recovery and age out within 30 days, after which no copy of your account data remains.
- Invoices and payment records — as long as the law requires. Your billing profile at Stripe is deleted, but the invoices and payment records of what you paid Neeuh are kept, because Stripe and we, as a business, are required by tax and financial-recordkeeping law to retain them. Neeuh never stores your full card number.
- Analytics and error reports — for the provider's retention period. Product usage events recorded by our analytics provider (PostHog) and error reports recorded by our error-monitoring provider (Sentry) are tied to an internal identifier rather than deleted with your account, and expire on those providers' retention schedules. They are used only to understand and fix the product.
- AI request logs — for our AI provider's retention period. Requests we sent to our AI provider (currently OpenAI) while you used Neeuh's AI features are retained by that provider under its API data retention policy, not ours.
- Forwarded receipt emails — up to 30 days. The original emails you forwarded to your Neeuh receipt address are deleted automatically 30 days after they arrive.
- Security audit log. If a Neeuh administrator ever accessed your account to support you, our audit log of that access may keep your account's internal ID and the administrator's IP address, as a security record.
- Shared companies. A company that other members still use stays with them, as described above.
Plaid, as an independent service, may keep information about your bank connection under its own policies. You can review and remove the connections Plaid holds for you at my.plaid.com.
Deleting some data without closing your account
You do not have to delete your account to remove individual records. You can delete transactions, receipts, mileage trips, and reports one at a time in the app, and disconnect a bank from Settings > Bank Accounts. For anything else, email privacy@neeuh.com.
